How to make a lyric video

Paste the lyrics, load the song, export. This is the whole workflow in JIZURA, including the parts people usually get stuck on.

What a lyric video is

A lyric video (lyric motion) is a video that shows the lyrics while moving them. Each cut changes how the type is placed, how it moves and how it is decorated, so the picture follows the shape of the song.

Doing that by hand means building dozens or hundreds of cuts per song, which takes hours. JIZURA treats layout, motion, decoration, transitions and finishing as more than 860 parts and picks combinations for you, so pasting the lyrics gets you a complete draft. From there you only adjust what bothers you.

1. Paste the lyrics

Paste the lyrics into the Lyrics field on the left, one line per phrase. A blank line adds a short pause.

Inside a line you can use the following notation.

• / … split a line into cuts (for example colors of dawn/I remember)
• *word* … emphasis (larger, more impactful treatment)
• ! at the end of a line … adds a flash and a shake
• lyric|note … a small annotation in the annotation layout
• [01:23.45]lyric … use that LRC timestamp as is
• [interlude 8] … an 8 second interlude with no lyrics. Leave the number out for 4 seconds
• a line starting with # … a comment (ignored)

2. Load the song and sync

Load an audio file and JIZURA detects the beat and lines the cuts up with it. Loading a song is optional: you can export without one.

For finer control, use tap sync. Play the song and press Space (or the TAP button) at the moment each line starts. If you miss one, use Backspace or Undo last. When a single line has several cuts, press Tab at each switch to set the cut start times too.

If you already have an LRC file with time stamps, Load LRC uses those times directly, and you can export an LRC to reuse later.

3. Choose the look

Press the Omakase button in the top right (or the R key) and the style, mood, motion, palette and structure change as a whole. Pressing it again gives a different result, so the fastest way to work is to keep pressing until something looks right.

Use Previous / Next to step back through the ideas you have seen. You can also pick a theme to fix the direction, and adjust type size, margins and motion with sliders.

Aspect ratios are 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 1:1, 4:5 and 21:9. Resolution goes from 720p to 4K and frame rate is 24, 30 or 60fps.

4. Export

Choose the export format that matches what you need.

• MP4 … the finished video with audio, ready for social media
• Numbered PNG (ZIP) … when you want to finish in a video editor
• Transparent PNG (ZIP) … no background, for layering over other footage
• Transparent PNG foreground / background … separate layers you can put something between
• Green screen / black screen … only the white type and effects on a flat background, for chroma key or screen compositing
• Lyrics (LRC) … lyric text with start times, reusable later
• Export for AE … arrangement data (JSON) you can edit in After Effects

When something goes wrong

If an export stalls, lower the resolution or use the MP4 (large video, write straight to a file) option. Long songs and 1080p or higher can hit the browser memory limit.

For songs whose beat is hard to detect, manual tap sync is more accurate than automatic detection. You can also export only a range of lines to check one section first.

On a phone, tap Phone in the header to pin the preview and work in a vertical layout. Editing works on phones; for MP4 export we recommend Chrome or Edge on a desktop.
